2013: For Children

2013: For Children

A New Year gets you thinking, doesn’t it? How can we make 2013 THE year for children of the world? What can we do in 2013 to make a safer world for children everywhere? To ensure ALL children live lives full of love, free from fear and threats of all kinds? How can we make sure the basic rights of all children to food, clean water, a safe and nurturing home and an education, are upheld with honor and pride across the globe?

We start in our own homes, practicing loving tolerance, patience, compassion and understanding within our own families.

We start in our own communities, supporting local schools, families, individuals, charities, where ever we can, in any way we can.

We listen to each other. We talk, we research, we learn, we educate and empower each other. We keep open minds and open hearts. We admit mistakes and try to grow. We unite.

We treat our children, our families, friends, colleges, and importantly, strangers who can do nothing for us, with love and respect.

We make noise. A racket, in fact: a DEAFENING DIN.

We WILL NOT BE SILENT WHILST CHILDREN SUFFER. WE KEEP ON DEMANDING THAT THE COLLECTIVE GOVERNMENTS OF THE WORLD PAY ATTENTION AND GENUINELY COMMIT TO PRIORITIZING THE WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN.

We do not stop until EVERY CHILD MATTERS. We do not stop until every child matters as if s/he were the presidents/prime ministers own child.

We do not give up.

2012 was not the end of the world, but maybe we can make it the end of an era. Let this be the dawn of a new age, an age in which all each child is loved, protected, cared for, and recognized for the unique and special wonders s/he offers the universe <3

All of us here CANNOT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH for being part of this movement for children and for all you have done to support Action Against Abuse and our campaigns over the years. We look forward to everything we will do together in the future. We salute you!

Wishing you, and the children of the world, a very happy 2013.
